Veneers

Dental veneers are custom made shells of tooth coloured material, made up of ceramic or composite and which cover the front of your teeth. They are an extremely effective solution for patients seeking to correct discoloured, chipped, crooked or fractured teeth.

They can restore your smile, and are especially designed to offer excellent colour, shape and size creating a flawless, perfect smile line.

Composite Resin Veneers

  • Made from a clinically proven flexible resin polymer which bonds to tooth structure with minimal cutting of tooth. Tooth preparation can vary from person to person and can be determined only after examination.
  • Life expectancy between 5-6 years , higher possibility of discolouration and repairs due to potential chipping or staining.
  • This can be used as well as an interim veneer and can be can be changed to ceramic veneers.

Ceramic Porcelain Veneers

Ceramic veneers are a strong, customisable and aesthetic option, with life expectancy between 10-12 years with good dental hygiene.

For most aesthetic results, different options of glazing, staining and layering are available to make veneers more life-like. It could cost bit more for highly aesthetic natural options.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a very quick and cost-effective way to repair teeth and can be completed in just one visit to Smile Craft Dental. This procedure uses the very latest composite resins and it is extremely versatile. You may wish to consider bonding your teeth if you have any of the following problems:

  • Teeth that are slightly cracked or chipped
  • Teeth that have become worn down
  • If a tooth is just slightly out of alignment
  • To close up or minimise gaps in between your teeth
  • To give a tooth a nicer appearance, for example if it is slightly too small or oddly shaped

For this treatment, the composite resin material is applied to the surface of your tooth in tiny increments and is hardened with a special light before being shaped and polished. This material comes in many different shades and translucencies, so quite often our dentists will use a combination of different colours to get the perfect match to your natural teeth.

This treatment is great if you are generally happy with the overall appearance of your teeth and just wish to make a few minor changes. Dental bonding is very non-invasive and it may not even be necessary to have any local anaesthetic for this treatment.

Dental bonding should last for several years before the composite resin needs replacing. This does depend on whether you have any lifestyle habits such as smoking or if you like to drink lots of coffee, tea or red wine as the composite resin can become stained over time.

Ceramic Crowns

Crowns are an ideal way to rebuild teeth which are cracked, have been broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling and where fillings are not a long term option. The crown fits right over the remaining part of the tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape and contour of a natural tooth. Crowns are sometimes also known as ‘caps’.

There are a number of reasons for giving a crown. For instance:

  • The tooth may have been weakened by having a very large filling
  • You may have discoloured fillings and would like to improve the appearance of the tooth
  • You may have had a root filling which will need a crown to protect it
  • You may have had an accident and damaged the tooth
  • Your crown may help hold a bridge or denture firmly in place.

Inlay and Onlays?

Inlays and onlays are used to repair larger cavities in back teeth and where an ordinary filling would not be strong enough to restore the tooth. By using an inlay or onlay, we can restore lost strength and structure to your tooth so you can chew without fear of your tooth cracking or biting.

Why Choose Porcelain?

At Smile Craft Dental, we are proud to provide you with Ceramic technology for our inlays and onlays, offering durability, aesthetics, longevity and optimal function. In case of extensive loss of tooth structure, where other filling materials do not perform well, porcelain is regarded as the material of choice when it comes to restoring your smile.

While other materials are effective, ceramic is the material that is most able to withstand the extreme day-to-day functions that our teeth endure, offering the best durability and longevity. Ceramic is also the most aesthetic and natural looking material. Through its various colour shades, tooth-like transparency and smooth texture, ceramic is the closest we can get to natural tooth enamel.

Our ceramic restorations are custom made using CAD CAM technology.

  • Excellent for large fillings, amalgam replacement, broken and cracked teeth.
  • They are fabricated using latest CAD/CAM technology.
  • Extremely strong and durable. Long life expectancy.
  • Highly aesthetic result giving natural appearance.
  • Only one visit required and no impressions.

Teeth Whitening

It’s natural to want to have a beautiful, bright smile but sometimes over the years routine actions and lifestyle habits such as drinking tea, coffee or red wine or smoking, can stain our teeth, leaving us with a smile which is less attractive, dull and far less bright than it once was.

Teeth whitening in our dental practice or at home

Your options include immediate teeth whitening during a one-hour treatment. Alternatively, you can opt for a take home treatment. Both procedures are safe and effective, using a specially formulated whitening gel that will gently enter the tooth’s layers to lighten the affected areas. Individual results will depend on the condition of your teeth, the type of staining, and the specific method of teeth whitening treatment you choose. We strongly recommend that you have a check-up, a dental clean and decay free mouth prior to the commencement of your whitening treatment. If you have healthy teeth and gums, and you do not suffer from receding gums and excessively sensitive teeth, teeth whitening may be an ideal way to remove stains and freshen up your smile.

Frequently asked questions

Although we can provide both composite resin veneers and ceramic veneers, ceramic is the most ideal material for a dental veneer as it is stronger, more durable and will give you better aesthetic results. Ceramic offers the life-like translucency of tooth enamel due to better reflection of light, achieving a more natural result.

In some cases veneers can be done without preparation but in majority of cases , they need teeth preparation. ceramic veneers will need more preparation so precede is irreversible.

Our one-hour whitening is good if you’re looking for a fast and convenient way to whiten your teeth. The bleach is activated with a special laser, allowing it to penetrate your teeth more easily and more quickly and takes shorter time.

How long your teeth whitening lasts will depend on the lifestyle choices you make after your treatment. However, you may notice their teeth discolour more quickly if you continue to use staining substances like caffeine, wine or tobacco products.

Sometimes patients may experience tooth hypersensitivity or gum irritations from the concentrated gel. This is unlikely to happen if you have a healthy mouth and teeth that are not overly sensitive. It is also important not to over-use the products provided in our home-whitening kits. These kits are easy to use and we provide clear instructions on their use.

you can wear our take-home whitening trays for a few hours each day few months after your in-chair treatment, to keep your smile bright even after few months.
